Senior officials of the United State Patent and Trademark Office will conduct on-line chat on Thursday, June 26, from 2 to 3 PM (EST).

They will be offering tips for independent inventors and answering questions.  For more info about this event please go to www.USPTO.gov at 10 AM (EST) 6/26/08.

Inventors can begin logging on for the chat at 1:30 PM.

This event is part of the USPTO’s continuing efforts to promote and protect America’s independent inventors. This effort includes educating inventor-entrepreneurs about the risks of working with invention development companies.

The 2008 Inventor’s Competition, held by DIT set out to inspire young inventors to pursue new realms of invention. The DIT inventor’s competition has been described as the incubation program hot house for up-and-coming inventors. The theme for this year’s competition was taken from Alan Kay, the famous computer scientist, who stated that the best way to predict the future was to invent it. (more…)

Trevor Baylis, who is often described as ‘the colorful inventor’ gave a passionate, emotional keynote address at The National Electronics Week Exhibition, which was held June 17-19 at London’s Earl Court Two.

The underlying theme of this year’s exhibition was “Learning and Discovery” and Baylis’s keynote address was titled “Why Invest? Inventors, Inventions and How to Get Your Ideas to Market”.

The UK’s only electronics exhibition, National Electronics Week took place from June 17-19, 2008 at London’s Earls Court Two. The extremely successful exhibition, which hosted 350 exhibitors, succeeded in providing valuable information to all electronics professionals with style and organization.

The theme for the exhibition was “Learning and Discovery” and many useful workshops and seminars gave electronics professionals guidance and information that was useful and well presented. A workshop on Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network discussed the challenges the UK faces in their attempts to maintain an innovative electronics sector and discussed ways to successfully market innovative ideas. The Minnesota Inventors Congress (MIC) is reinventing itself

Inventors from across the globe have test marketed their inventions at the MIC since 1958. Inventors set up their booth like they would at a traditional trade show and have access to thousands of potential customers. Product scouts, manufacturers and investors also attend our expo.

The search engine “Wikipedia” is an incredibly useful tool, for both the inquisitive public at large and product developers and inventors. Knowledge is power. And much of our success is based on exactly how much we DO know - about potential partners, licensees, manufacturing techniques, retailers, etc. Because we’re forced to do much of our own research, it’s important that we work as efficiently as possible.
