2008 DIT Inventor’s Competition Cultivates Young Inventors

The 2008 Inventor’s Competition, held by DIT set out to inspire young inventors to pursue new realms of invention. The DIT inventor’s competition has been described as the incubation program hot house for up-and-coming inventors. Independent Inventors Conference Set for August 8-9

Registration Now Open

It will be held on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)’s campus in Alexandria, Virginia during August 8-9.

 A pre-conference workshop,

Anyone interested in learning about the basics of patents and the importance of intellectual property protection, will be able to attent a pre-conference workshop to be held on August 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. The workshop is for beginners and is a good foundation for the conference.

Senior officials of the United State Patent and Trademark Office will conduct on-line chat on Thursday, June 26, from 2 to 3 PM (EST).

They will be offering tips for independent inventors and answering questions.  For more info about this event please go to www.USPTO.gov at 10 AM (EST) 6/26/08.

Inventors can begin logging on for the chat at 1:30 PM.

This event is part of the USPTO’s continuing efforts to promote and protect America’s independent inventors. This effort includes educating inventor-entrepreneurs about the risks of working with invention development companies.

The UK’s only electronics exhibition, National Electronics Week took place from June 17-19, 2008 at London’s Earls Court Two. The extremely successful exhibition, which hosted 350 exhibitors, succeeded in providing valuable information to all electronics professionals with style and organization.

The theme for the exhibition was “Learning and Discovery” and many useful workshops and seminars gave electronics professionals guidance and information that was useful and well presented. A workshop on Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network discussed the challenges the UK faces in their attempts to maintain an innovative electronics sector and discussed ways to successfully market innovative ideas. Inventors from across the globe have test marketed their inventions at the MIC since 1958. Inventors set up their booth like they would at a traditional trade show and have access to thousands of potential customers. Product scouts, manufacturers and investors also attend our expo.

Inventors, be careful: One of our inventors who is posting his invention on our site - www.shop4patents.com wrote us the following note:
“Dear Sirs,
I have a patent listed for sale on your website and it is the only listing I have anywhere for the sale of the patent. I have been contacted by a Dr. Lin Sai from the United Arab Emirates who is supposedly in shipping, real estate, and manufacturing who wants to purchase my patent outright for a sum of $35 million dollars. Moreover, he wants to ship the cash via diplomat attaché to my home base in the USA and he wants to keep the deal discreet (no attorney or proxy involvement). This is obviously a hook routine to a Nigerian-type money transfer scheme and the inventors on your website are being targeted! You need to inform them as loudly as possible to these fraudulent attempts at bilking money from them. The specifics of each scheme may vary, but if they contacted me, then I’m sure there are other gullible inventors that will surely fall for their devious and dishonest plots.
